Sometimes you have to see something to believe it. .. just as Thomas had to actually see Jesus' wounds before he could believe that he had risen. .. seeing becomes believing. ..But what happens when you do not see. .. what happens when your understanding of the situation, does not allow you to see. .. It could mean that God has not given you the revelation to see. .. Some things we are looking for in the natural, have to be revealed in the spirit.
In the Book of Daniel, God has blessed Daniel with the ability to interpret the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar. God had blessed Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, because they had asked not to eat the King's meat, or drink is wine, for fear of defiling themselves. Now most who study this particular story, know these individuals by the names that the prince of the eunuchs gave them. .. (Daniel 1: 7). Daniel was named Belteshazzar, Hananiah was Shadrach, Mishael was nmaed Meshach, and Azariah was named Abednego. (Daniel 2: 17)God honored their faith by giving them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And he was able to interpret Nebuchadnezzar's dreams even when his astrologers were not able to.
And it came to past that Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image and sent out a decree that stated (Daniel 3: 4-6). . .. To you it is commanded, o people, nations and languages, that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden mage that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And who falleth not down and worship shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Now even though Nebuchadnezzar recognized that the God of Daniel was greater than all gods, he still has this image made for his people to bow down and worship this god, and not the God Daniel knew, the God who has blessed Daniel to be able to bless Nebuchadnezzar by interpreting his dreams, and yet, the image is for a lesser god. .. what does he see?
Now because Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah had been blessed by God to have favor with Nebuchadnezzar, they were actually put this over the affairs of the province of Babylon, but certain Chaldeans accused Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah of not bowing to the golden image at the appointed time and reported this information to Nebuchadnezzar.
Now when Nebuchadnezzar heard this, he had them brought before him (Daniel 3:14-15) and asked if this was true (Daniel 3:14-23). That is when Hananiah (Shadadrach, Mishael (Meshach), and Azariah (Abednego) were very careful to answer and said " If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, o king. But if not, be it know unto thee, o king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Of course Nebuchadnezzar was angry, the word says "full of fury" and his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedneo; therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was want to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind them and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
Then they were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach Meshach, and Abedngo. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Now we get to ask to ask Nebuchadnezzar the question. .. What do you See?
(Daniel 3:24-30) Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, ad said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. What do you see Nebuchadnezzar?
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Now you know, he could not believe what he was seeing, So, Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, ad Abednego came forth of the midst of the fire.
And the princes, governors, and captains, and the kings's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men upon whose bodies the fire. .. had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, nether were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god except their own god.
Therefore I make a decree that every people, nation, and language, which speak anything amiss
against the God of Shadrach,Meshack, and Abedngo, shall be cut into pieces, and their houses shall be made a dung hill; because there is no other God. .. that can deliver after this sort.
May the Grace and Mercy of our Savior Jesus Christ, bless his word and your understanding. .. Amen.
