What is God's Perfect Will for You?

When we pray the Lord's prayer. .. there is that part where we say Thy will be done. ..So what are we saying? Lord, not my will, but Thy will be done, but do we really mean it, do we really understand what we are praying, what we are asking the Lord to do?

Are we praying that His will be done in our life, but asking Him for something else. .. What if God's will for you, goes against what you want? Now what. .. do we try to work a compromise with God and try to change His mind. .. just this one time Lord, let me do it this way, I know that this might not be what you would do, but I think if you just let me have my way this one time. ..

Now how utterly ridiculous is that. ..You going to just bypass the wisdom of God because your flesh wants something that you know God would never endorse. .. So why would you even ask?

But what is God's will for you. First let's explore self in the Bible. We can start with Self-will.

The word of God describes this as refusing to receive correction (Deuteronomy 21: 18-19), going backward and not forward (Jeremiah 7:24). Refusing to walk in the ways of God (Nehemiah 9:17)

Then there is Self-righteousness. ..

I love the word in Proverbs 21:2, which sates that every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but the Lord ponders the hearts.

And if that is not enough, look at John 5:30. .. These are Jesus' words, and he says, "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just: because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Now if Jesus is not seeking his own will. ..

It seems that self as an adjective in these examples in no way align with the will of God, unless it is the Will of God. So, Thy will be done, Thy being God. .. God's Will be done. ..

So how do I know Lord. .. how do I know what your will is in my life?

Romans 12:1-2) I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. ..( that means yield to the call of God), And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, Will of God. .. Good, Acceptable, and Perfect. .. The Will of God. .. for you and me, We. ..

(Romans 12:5-21) So, We, being many, are One body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,

whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering; or he that teaches, on teaching; or he that exhorts, on exhortation; he that gives, let him do it with simplicity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Let love be without dissimulation, abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit, Serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in Prayer;

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you; bless, and curse not.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink; for in so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
